Getting around your problem

[edit]

Hi,

Please see Wikipedia:IP_block_exemption#Used_for_anonymous_proxy_editing for a way to get around this. I will also alert the Administrators' noticeboard as you are obviously a good faith user and this is exactly what it's there for, so you may find yourself able to edit properly soon.

Hang in there. It's a hell of a situation in your country, please know that the world is with you, as am I.

  • Oh joy I am editing!!!!! Thank you very very much! Your kind words and feelings make me believe there are still people out there who care and that we're not alone. Thank you. REMcrazy (talk) 14:32, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Any time. If there's anything the Wikipedia community can do to help you, especially if you suffer any real life consequences, please let me know. Egg Centric 22:51, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

(Aslo please be aware you can access Wikipedia at https://en.wikipedia.org/ if your government will let you - assuming you would recognise a man in the middle attack, you should be safe doing that, although I appreciate just accessing the site may cause you trouble [i.e. assuming they don't send you a false SSL certificate, which they oughtn't be able to do if your browser settings are correct, they can tell you were acessing wikipedia but not what you were doing on it]) Egg Centric 21:44, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It all seems to be sorted now, thanks to guys I alerted like DeltaQuad. I just want to say again, if you at all can please visit the secure sites, or even better visit them through TOR - or even both. (Actually if you use TOR you should use secure access otherwise someone could steal your password). Best of luck to you and feel free to email me if there is anything you think that I, in a free-ish country can do. I live on the Isle of Man. Egg Centric 00:07, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I knew this had sounded familiar and I'm sorry I didn't reply to your email message. I had thought you were going to email me seperately with the information I had requested, I did not see that it was attached. I will go through the hoops right now as soon as I can get someone to look into things. -- DQ (ʞlɐʇ) 22:39, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • I am very thankful DeltaQuad. You're very kind and helpful. I was a bit hesitant to trouble you more with my emails as I recalled you saying on your page you're not online these days as before. Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it. REMcrazy (talk) 14:32, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

IP block exempt

[edit]

User:MuZemike have granted your account an exemption from IP blocking. This will allow you to edit through full blocks affecting your IP address when you are logged in.

Please read the page Wikipedia:IP block exemption carefully, especially the section on IP block exemption conditions.

Note in particular that you are in this case permitted to use this newly-granted right to edit Wikipedia via anonymous proxies for your situation but not for other reasons (I doubt this would be an issue), and not allow to use it disruptively. If you do, or there is a serious concern of abuse, then the right may be removed by any administrator.

Appropriate usage and compliance with the policy may be checked periodically, due to the nature of block exemption, and block exemption will be removed when no longer needed (for example, when the block it is related to expires).

I hope this will enhance your editing, and allow you to edit successfully and without disruption. -- DQ (ʞlɐʇ) 23:15, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • I assure you, you won't regret this. I promise you will not come across any disruptive editing by me. I am very grateful and I will not abuse what you offered me whatsoever. Thank you and God bless you.
